History of the recipe
This preparation was inspired by the traditional recipe of Minna Canth feminism of March 19 in Finland. But let's take a closer look at maple syrup, which is the flagship Canadian ingredient in this recipe. Native American legend has it that Manabush carried themaple water to boil. It was actually the syrup that flowed down the trees. Believing that men had too easy access to it, Manabush climbed to the top of the maple tree with a container filled with water. He poured the contents into it. This diluted the sap, forcing men to collect it and monitor the cooking. This legend has been passed down to us by the first nations. Beat the very cold cream using the electric whisk and the previously cooled bowl. It must form ultra-firm peaks. Beat the eggs and sugar in a separate bowl until you have a mixture with a foamy texture. Incorporate the whipped cream. Then add your dry ingredients (spices, yeast, flour). Grate the zest of your oranges into the mixture before adding the melted butter and maple syrup. Then stir. Place this preparation in a mold that you have already buttered and floured. Bake at 175°C for half an hour and at 150°C for 45 minutes. Leave to cool and sprinkle with icing sugar.
Some treats to prepare with maple syrup
Maple syrup is a less sweet and more nutritious alternative to table sugar. It is used to prepare various sweet treats such as maple caramel. You can use it on your pancakes. Otherwise, feel free to use it as a soaking syrup in the cake. You can also use maple syrup to make maple caramel. To do this, simply add cream and butter to your syrup. Heat 200 g of syrup over low heat in a saucepan and wait for bubbles to form. Cook the maple caramel and gradually add the cream. Finish by incorporating 40 g of diced butter. You can also make maple syrup praline. Otherwise, you can always use it to flavor your whipped cream or ganache.
