Maple marinated salmon recipe
Ingredients
- 6 beautiful salmon fillets
- the juice of a lemon
- 160 g of maple syrup
- 2 teaspoons Worcestershire sauce
Preparation
Allow a few hours to overnight for the marinade and about fifteen minutes for the preparation. After marinating, the salmon marinated in maple can be cooked in the oven or on the BBQ grill. Cooking will take about fifteen minutes at most. You can use maple syrup Golden, amber Or dark for this recipe. However, we recommend its version dark - much richer in taste - for culinary preparations.
Maple marinade
Mix lemon juice, maple syrup, Worcestershire sauce, salt and pepper in an airtight Ziploc bag. It must be large enough to hold the 6 salmon fillets. Add the salmon to the bag.
Evacuate as much air as possible from the bag before closing it. Then leave to marinate in the refrigerator for a few hours. For best results, marinate overnight for cooking the next day.
Baking
Heat the oven on the grill function and at the highest temperature (220°C) for about 10 minutes. Place a baking sheet on the plate and lightly grease it. Place the fillets on top, skin against the parchment paper, and bake. Let it cook for ten to twelve minutes. The salmon should be lightly browned on the top and have the consistency of cooked fish under the fork.
BBQ cooking
Light your barbecue and place your fish griddle or grill on top. It is best to use a non-stick model to prevent the fish from snagging. Turn fillets only once. The tenderloin is cooked when the flesh becomes opaque or the texture changes and crumbles slightly. Avoid overcooking the fish, as this may dry it out. You can also place the fillets in aluminum trays and place them directly on the barbecue grill, for papillote cooking.
Side dish ideas
Salmon flesh is tender, juicy and fine. When the fillets are cooked in maple, you can count on the accompaniments to break the sweetness and give character to the plate. The rice adds consistency and the sautéed vegetables, crunch and always more color. We particularly recommend the mixture of broccoli, peas, zucchini, carrots sautéed in olive oil with onions or shallots and a little garlic, all sprinkled with fresh coriander. For more daring, try this salmon recipe accompanied by spaghetti with butter, lemon and parsley. As for the small fresh salad, this timeless one for sunny days will always go very well with this dish.
