Meatballs with Blueberry Sauce
Meatballs recipe
Prepare the meatballs that you can cook gently while preparing the sauce on the other side. Prefer ground pork to sausage mix (too fatty) for this recipe.
Ingredients for 6 people:
- 500 g minced pork (or turkey or beef with added fat)
- 100g Panko breadcrumbs (or breadcrumbs)
- 100ml lukewarm milk
- 1 egg
- 50g chives
- 2 shallots
- 2 cloves garlic
- ½ teaspoon 5-spice powder
- Seasoning: pepper and salt
Preparation :
Peel the garlic cloves and shallots. Prepare the chives. Chop them finely. Beat the egg in a small bowl. In another container, pour the breadcrumbs or breadcrumbs into the lukewarm milk. In a large bowl, put the pork, chives, shallots, garlic and 5-spice blend. Mix everything by hand. Add the milk and breadcrumb mixture, as well as the beaten egg. Mix again to obtain a more or less homogeneous paste.
Heat your oven to 180°C. Out of the oven, place a sheet of parchment paper on the plate Then use an ice cream scoop or a tablespoon to make your meatballs. Roll each of them in your hands to give them the desired shape. Once you have a few ready, put a frying pan on the heat with a tablespoon of oil. Place a few meatballs in the hot oil to color them and turn them as you go before transferring them to the baking sheet. Once all the meatballs are colored, bake for 10 minutes.
Blueberry Sauce Recipe
Ingredients for 6 people:
- 100 g of dried blueberries
- 2 tablespoons light soy sauce
- 1 tablespoon of blueberry jam
- 1 tablespoon of rice vinegar
- 1 teaspoon cornstarch (optional)
Preparation :
Start by rehydrating the dried blueberries in lukewarm water for about fifteen minutes. After draining them, cook in a saucepan over low heat. Stir regularly and remove from heat after ten minutes.
Squeeze the blueberries and collect the juice using a small handle kitchen strainer. Squeeze the blueberries to extract all the liquid. Pour the juice obtained into the saucepan and return to low heat. Add soy sauce, blueberry jam and rice vinegar. Let simmer gently for 5 minutes.
For a thicker sauce, mix the cornstarch with a tablespoon of water and pour into the pan. By heating, this mixture will thicken the sauce. You can skip this step if the thickness of the sauce is already right for you. Remove the pan from the fire.
