Start by heating the oven to 180°C. Then sift the flour and salt into a dish. Then, with your cold hands, incorporate the butter into the flour. In the hollow of the flour, make a well and pour in the milk. Then mix everything with a spoon until you obtain a soft dough.
Roll the dough to form a 50×60 cm rectangle. Then melt the butter and mix in the nuts, raisins, sugar and cinnamon. Spread this mixture over the dough, and roll the dough starting from the long side. Press the last piece firmly so that the roll cannot open.
Then cut the roll into several 2 cm pieces which you will place on a baking tray covered with parchment paper. Sprinkle everything with a small amount of brown sugar, before baking for 25 minutes until the buns are golden brown. Let cool.
Mix the water and powdered sugar before brushing the loaves with this mixture.
The origins of pecans
The pecan is a nut native to North America. According to rumors, the pecan dates back to prehistoric times. Fossils found in Texas and northern Mexico apparently serve as evidence to support this theory. Archaeologists have indeed discovered millions of pecan trees along the main waterways of these regions.
Until the 18th century, pecan trees would have been present exclusively in Texas and northern Mexico. Then, plantations spread to the southern United States. Growing pecan trees then became a very profitable activity for many curious people. And thus an industry was born.
Today, pecans are very popular for their many health benefits.
