Easy Canadian Porridge Recipe
History

- 10 juniper berries
- ½ teaspoon dried thyme
- 3 cloves of garlic
- 4 sprigs of parsley
- 3 bay leaves
- 8 potatoes
- 10 carrots
- 1 turnip
- 1 cabbage
- 700 g yellow beans
- Salt and pepper
Preparation
Peel the onions before cutting them into pieces. Prepare your vegetables to peel them too. Crush the berries and garlic cloves. Cut the turnip into pieces and the cabbage into strips.
Slice your beef blade into pieces before browning them in the butter. Do the same with the pork. Let all the meat brown, then add the onions. Continue cooking for two minutes. Sprinkle with water and salt. Place the bouquet of herbs in the casserole dish. You can then add the turnips and carrots. Continue cooking for 30 minutes. Add water to cover the meats.
Add the cabbage and potatoes and simmer for 30 minutes. Finish by adding the beans. Cook for 15 minutes. Serve this Canadian porridge after removing the bouquet of herbs.
