Mustard and maple chicken strips
Recipe for mustard and maple chicken strips
Ingredients for 4 persons :
- 500g chicken strips
- 200g new potatoes
- 200 g Brussels sprouts
- 60ml of Maple syrup
- 3 tablespoons vegetable oil
- 1 tbsp fresh thyme or rosemary
- 1 tablespoon cider vinegar
- 1 tablespoon old-fashioned mustard
- 2 cloves of fresh garlic
- ½ teaspoon garlic powder
- Salt and pepper seasoning
Preparation :
Clean Brussels sprouts and new potatoes. Peel the garlic cloves and crush them. Prepare the marinade at least 30 minutes before cooking: mix maple syrup, vegetable oil, mustard, powdered and crushed garlic, thyme (or rosemary), cider vinegar, salt and pepper. Then place meat and vegetables inside. The ideal is to let the meat and vegetables marinate overnight. In this way, the flavors are impregnated well.
Preheat the oven to 200°C. Place the potatoes and Brussels sprouts on the baking dish (separating them). Let the vegetables cook completely, about 20 minutes. Remove the vegetables from the dish to put the aiguillettes. Count about ten minutes for the meat, but watch the cooking because the chicken strips cook relatively quickly.
Variations of this recipe
If you don't like chicken strips, you can always replace them with wings, thighs, forelegs or breasts. By choosing larger cuts of meat, you can cook vegetables and meat at the same time. You can also opt for barbecue cooking for the meat. Take advantage of sunny days and weekends to have lunch outside with family and/or friends.
Young and old generally enjoy potatoes. It's not the same story with Brussels sprouts… You can replace them with broccoli, cauliflower or carrots. Want to stay sweet and sweet? Substitute the potatoes with sweet potato.
For the maple syrup, we advise you to use maple syrup amber To dark, knowing that the darker its dress, the more complex its taste. As for the mustard, grain mustard is the most suitable for this recipe. You can also easily replace it with already crushed mustard. You might even be tempted by the maple butter mustard or the one with maple and cider. We also offer a old-fashioned maple Dijon mustard and an smoked maple mustard.
