Smoked beef sandwich recipe
The guilty pleasure of meat lovers. Having become an essential dish in several European countries, the smoked beef sandwich is one of the tastiest dishes. Indeed, one bite, and an assortment of tastes will invade your mouth to further stimulate your appetite. Enough chatter, here is the recipe for this dish so popular with meat lovers.
History
The smoked beef sandwich, commonly called smoked meat in certain European countries, is a specialty of Quebec origin. In fact, the dish was created in Montreal by Jews from Eastern Europe.
The smoked beef sandwich is an easy dish to prepare. To successfully prepare it, you don't need to be a star chef.
Note that the term beef in this sandwich refers to beef brisket. This is the main ingredient of this dish. To make the recipe, this meat must be well seasoned, salted and then smoked.
Furthermore, there are several variations of the smoked beef sandwich. In Europe alone, there are no fewer than ten dishes derived from this typically Montreal dish.
For the record, the smoked beef sandwich arrived in Montreal at the beginning of the 20th century. Although its exact origins are not known, some historians agree that the recipe appeared in several kosher butcher shops in Montreal at almost the same time.
Then, the dish underwent a big evolution. Rapidly invading the different regions of the country, it ended up going beyond its borders to establish its notoriety in Europe.
For your information, the original dish created by Eastern European Jews is not the same as today. The current beef sandwich recipe appeared in the mid-20th century.
