In 1990, a group of brewer-entrepreneurs created the company whose name would become synonymous with uncompromising quality for all who appreciate its products. Unibroue is one of four breweries that partnered with Maestro Gaspard in 2004 to create a beer specially brewed for Woodstock 99.
In just a few years, Unibroue has established itself as a major player in the Canadian brewing industry. Its success has led to the creation of Canadian breweries in the United States and Europe.
History of the Unibroue brand
Unibroue is a brewery and importer based in Quebec. She has won many international awards throughout her existence. As an importer, Unibroue continued to deviate from commercial norms by producing beers with complex taste profiles and based on Belgian styles. It was chosen to produce the official beer of the Festivals Acadiens du Nouveau-Brunswick.
Mainly produced in Chambly, Quebec, these beers have been recognized for their quality both nationally and internationally. The fascinating blend of flavors makes it one of the favorite brands offered by the brewery today.
Unibroue brand products
In 2013, the company launched "La Fin du Monde" which quickly became one of their most popular beers. It is an imperial stout that contains coffee beans, has an alcohol by volume (ABV) of 12%. It is also a Belgian Strong Dark Ale (BSDA).
Unibroue beers are brewed with a wide variety of ingredients from different cultures. Unibroue values are based on these selected bases:
- The Grand Reserve is the base used in all Unibroue beers;
- Abbey and Belgian styles are made from a Belgian yeast or an abbey yeast, because this yeast produces aromatic notes of fruits and spices, but also by their use of various spices and fruits;
- While other beers are usually produced from a regular grain supply, Imperials are brewed with Pale Ale 2 row malt.
- Here are some examples: La Fin du Monde des Brasseurs, Maudite, Ephemere, Unibroue Blonde, Belgian Pale Ale, Quad, Blanche de Chambly, Golden Blonde Ale, ... and Le Terroir (a collaboration with Mikkeller) which was recently released in the USA.
