The tart cousin of the maple nougat: same soft base of maple syrup, egg whites and almonds, but studded with dried cranberries from Quebec. The red berry's tang balances the syrup's sweetness. 90 g of Quebec in a single bite.
The plain maple nougat plays the woody, round sweetness solo. Here we add dried cranberries bringing a tart, fruity note that wakes up the sweetness. More complex in the mouth, less linear — ideal if you find the classic nougat a touch too sweet.
Keep it dry, at room temperature, in its wrapper. No fridge (gets sticky), no heat (nougat oozes). Eat it within the week after opening. Texture: soft and chewy with cranberries bursting under the tooth and releasing their tartness — a nougat that really shifts gears.
Allergens: almonds (tree nuts) and eggs (whites). Gluten-free, lactose-free, not vegan. Health-wise, cranberries bring vitamin C and antioxidants on top of the regular nougat benefits. Cranberry also has a reputation for urinary comfort — nice, but this stays a treat, not a medicine.
It's the women's favourite nougat at our counter — the cranberry adds the pep that wins. Enjoy it with a white tea or a sweet white wine (Vouvray, for instance). Seasonal bonus: a piece on an ash-coated goat's cheese makes an impression on the aperitif board.
Same constraints as the plain maple nougat: 24 h rest, hand-built, pure maple syrup. On top, we fold in dried Quebec cranberries — not cheap raisins. More noble raw material and more steps: you're paying for artisan Quebec nougat, not an industrial product in disguise.
