It's a handcrafted natural candle from Québec that actually smells like maple — no synthetic fragrance. 100 % plant-based soy wax, cotton wick, scented with maple essential oils. The cute bit: hand-poured in a real maple syrup tin as decor — the jar itself is part of the charm. Once burned out, keep it as a plant pot.
A regular supermarket scented candle is often paraffin (a petroleum byproduct) with synthetic fragrance. Burning it can release not-great compounds. This one is 100 % plant-based soy wax + maple essential oils + cotton wick — zero paraffin, zero lead in the wick, clean burn. Hand-poured in Québec, not factory-made. The maple scent is gentle, natural, never cloying.
Soy wax burns 30–40 % longer than paraffin. For the 225 ml format expect about 40–50 hours of burn time; for 500 ml around 80–100 hours. Tip: let the whole surface melt on first light (1–2 h) so the candle doesn't tunnel. Trim the wick to 5 mm before every burn to avoid soot. Always on a flat, non-flammable surface.
Wax: 100 % plant-based soy (typically non-GMO). Wick: 100 % natural cotton, no lead or metals. Scent: maple essential oils + natural fragrances. No paraffin, no phthalates, no synthetic dyes. Sensitivities: essential oils can contain allergenic compounds (like any natural fragrance) — check with the maker if you have known allergies. For asthma sufferers, ventilate the room.
The trick: the tin becomes a cute Quebec decor piece after burning. Rinse out remaining wax with warm water — and you've got a succulent pot, pen holder or trinket jar in sugar-shack style. Perfect gift for anyone who loves Canada or cosy vibes. Light it during a crepe-pancake-maple-syrup dinner — the scent doubles the effect. Small budget, big impact.
Starting at €9 incl. VAT depending on size (225 ml, 500 ml...), that's the fair price of a real handcrafted natural candle. You're paying for plant-based soy wax (pricier than paraffin), real maple essential oils (no cheap fragrance), handmade in Québec, and the decor tin. Compared to artisan soy candles at deli shops for €18–25, you're well below. Soy lasts longer — great burn-hour-per-euro ratio.
