L'Infiltrée from Unibroue is the Belgian-style IPA at 6.5% ABV, bottle-conditioned — a perfect hybrid between American IPA and Belgian tripel. Hazy golden robe, white head, notes of hops, citrus, tropical fruits and spices. A less bitter, fruitier IPA than the classics.
An American IPA is very bitter and hoppy (Citra, Mosaic). An English IPA is maltier and earthier. L'Infiltrée is a Belgian IPA fermented with Unibroue's house yeast — the hop bitterness is tempered by Belgian fruity esters. The secret: you get the hoppy side without the bitter punch, more accessible to non-IPA fans.
Store the bottle upright, away from light, at 10-15°C. Bottle conditioning = natural sediment, normal. Serve chilled (6-8°C) in a tulip glass to release the hop aromas. Drink young (within 6-12 months), as hops lose freshness fast — crucial for IPAs.
6.5% ABV, drink in moderation. Contains gluten (barley, malt) — not for coeliacs. Lactose-free, GMO-free. Avoid for pregnant women and drivers. Hop freshness is essential: drink as young as possible.
L'Infiltrée loves spiced, flavourful dishes: tacos, burritos, curry, Indian dishes, pad thai. From the BBQ: spicy burger, ribs with hot sauce, Buffalo wings. Cheeses: strong cheddar, manchego, aged gouda. The hops withstand the heat of spices and the bitterness cleanses the palate.
It's a craft Belgian IPA from Unibroue imported from Quebec, bottle-conditioned (a long process), with premium North American hops. The price includes transatlantic shipping, alcohol taxes and the Unibroue signature. Compared to premium American IPAs and Belgian tripels: same class, unique hybrid originality.
