Trois Pistoles from Unibroue is Quebec's iconic strong dark ale — 9% ABV, bottle-conditioned, inspired by the legend of the Bas-Saint-Laurent's black horse. Deep brown robe, beige head, notes of dark fruits, molasses, dark chocolate and spices. A rich, complex meditation beer.

A stout (Guinness) is black, dry, coffee-cocoa. A Belgian dubbel (Chimay Blue) is brown, fruity, monastic. Trois Pistoles is a unique Quebec hybrid: fruity-spicy brown, stronger than a stout, more complex than a dubbel. The secret: Unibroue's house yeast.

Store the bottle upright, away from light, at 10-15°C. Bottle conditioning = natural sediment, normal. Serve lightly chilled (10-12°C) in a tulip glass, never iced (would mask the aromas). Ages up to 5 years, gaining complexity and Port-like notes.

9% ABV — strong, sip slowly and in moderation. Contains gluten (barley, malt) — not for coeliacs. Lactose-free, GMO-free. Avoid for pregnant women and drivers. One 750 ml = about 6 standard glasses. An evening and digestive beer.

Trois Pistoles elevates rich dishes: duck breast, game, lamb with prunes, BBQ ribs. Cheeses: Stilton, Roquefort, aged Brie de Meaux. Dessert: dark chocolate tart, brownie, fondant. Also remarkable as a post-meal digestive, replacing Port.
