Maple sugar, a 100 product% pure maple syrup

Maple sugar comes from the evaporation of Maple syrup. Maple sugar is 100% natural since no adjuvant is necessary for its manufacture. The particularity of maple sugar is that it has a lower glycemic index than cane sugar, so it is lower in calories.

A type of processed food that tastes slightly different than table sugar, maple sugar can be used in any recipe as an alternative to refined white sugars. These Quebec products have made headlines recently because they are more affordable than regular honey or other natural sweeteners.

Maple syrup and maple sugar are composed of sucrose (50 % of total weight), fructose and glucose. Since these sugars come from the sap of maple trees, they have a distinct maple taste and a caramel and nutty flavor.

Maple sugar is a sweetener 100% natural from the concentration of maple syrup. Its glycemic index of 50 is lower than the majority of sugars (cane sugar: 70, honey: between 55 and 85).

The manufacture of maple sugar does not use no additives, preservatives, or even coloring. Moreover, it is not refined. It also contains many antioxidants.

To make maple syrup you need to heat maple syrup up to 125°C, then as it cools the maple syrup crystallizes. Everything is filtered to extract the sugar crystals.

Quebec maple sugar

Each variety of maple sugar has a unique taste and texture when added to recipes. However, they are all made from maple syrups. This delicious, nutritious sweetener adds a wonderfully rich flavor to any recipe it is added to. It also adds that touch of uniqueness that only maple syrup can offer to those who haven't tried it yet!

Quebec maple sugar is very healthy because it does not react like refined white or brown sugars. Rather, it is a natural preservative that prevents harmful bacteria from growing in the container in which it was stored.

Granulated maple sugar and maple sugar chips

There are three basic types: light, medium and dark varieties. The light variety is by far the most used in cooking because it mixes well with other ingredients, while dark sugars have a more pronounced flavor.

Maple sugar is recommended for cooking and baking because it is made from natural ingredients. White table sugar, on the other hand, contains no nutrients or vitamins and has been stripped of all its natural elements. Maple sugar also adds a certain sweetness and caramel flavor to your food that white table sugar cannot produce. It also makes a great addition to any recipe since, unlike table sugar, it does not need to be cooked before using in recipes.
